Until band C becomes the law
Old-style C window closes in — days
Short answer
MEES began in April 2018 with a band E minimum for new tenancies, extended to all tenancies in April 2020. The Warm Homes Plan (January 2026) set band C by 1 October 2030. New-style EPCs arrive from October 2026, and old-style C ratings issued before 1 October 2029 are expected to count until they expire.
